LTSP and graphics applications

Summary

Using thin clients in large scale deployments is getting popular, especially in the education sector where a lot of students get initiated to open source graphics applications.

This talk will show how LTSP and LTSP-Cluster works, what are problems we've found with graphics apps and discussions on how they could be solved with the help of applications developers.

Summary:

  • Presenting LTSP and the LTSP-Cluster infrastructure
  • Use of graphics tools in education
  • Issues with LTSP (limited color depth, video memory, remote X11)
  • Known problems with specific graphics apps (GIMP, 3D apps, ...)
