SUBJECT: Libre Graphics Meeting 2009 Community Campaign Needs Your Support

Hello!

Thanks again for supporting Libre Graphics Meeting (LGM) last year.
Because of your support in 2008, the conference in Poland took place and
propelled Free and Open Source Graphics and the developers who make it
possible, to the next level. Altogether with your support, we raised
over $ 12,000 USD last year in our community campaign which funded travel
for developers of your favorite apps like Inkscape, Gimp, Scribus, Blender
and more to attend Libre Graphics Meeting.

For this year, 2009, we have launched the Libre Graphics meeting 2009
Community Fundraising Campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 USD this year
to support travel and collaboration between Free and Open Source Graphics
Software Developers and Users to Montreal, Canada this May 6, 7, 8 and 9.
We are running this campaign all the way up until April 22, 2009, but hope
you will lead the pack like last year, and donate once more to support
developers. For this campaign we are asking for your help in three ways:

   * Donate $25, $50, $100 or More to Sponsor Developer Travel via our
     Pledgie Campaign: http://pledgie.com/campaigns/2926
   * Blog about this campaign on your site(s) (and let us know).
   * Put the following pledgie drive button on your site(s) for the
     duration of the campaign (found at http://pledgie.com/campaigns/2926)

If you would like to donate a larger amount or be a full conference
sponsor, including a link of your choice on the LGM website, and promotion
throughout the conference materials, please contact us at lgm@gnome.org

We strongly praise you for your past donation. With the tough economy,
its harder than ever for us all. At present we have raised $1,171 USD
towards our goal of $15K with 36 supporters in about two weeks.
It is definitely tough to raise funds this year, but we are encouraged
by the responses received. We are tenacious in our efforts to put this
conference on for the benefit of all.

With the tough economy, many are predicting that more people and
organizations will turn to Free and Open Source Software. We are
committed to improving Free and Open Source Graphics and getting more
to use the software we, including you, make together.
